new year, new direction
It’s been a LONG time since I’ve done anything with this site. So, to make better use of the site and my time, I’ve decided to use this as a place to post photos – both from my camera and my iPhone. Enjoy!

(wear)drobe
While searching the internet for fashion ideas this afternoon during a little downtime at work I discovered Weardrobe, a user generated site showcasing user outfits and daily wears. It’s such a great site for a little (or a lot) inspiration. I love the self-portrait style photos as well. Enjoy!

blazers

Growing up my mother always wore a classic blazer, jeans, and ballet flats. Though I always loved her look (she has always been incredibly stylish), I never thought it suited me. Much to my chagrin my go to outfit these days is a blazer, simple shirt, jeans, a colorful scarf, and ballet flats. Whoever said we all become our mothers wasn’t kidding.
With Fall finally creeping up on Los Angeles (I couldn’t be happier for the break in the heat), the blazer is a brilliant way to stay warm, keep cool, and be fashionable.
A true bargain hunter, my sister and I have found some great blazers at Forever21 – one waist length and 3/4 sleeves, the other long with long sleeves that roll up beautifully with a blue/white stripped liner (it’s a men’s cut but with a single button). I’m obsessed with them both!

“I don’t do fashion, I am fashion” – Coco Chanel
Here is a great piece on Coco Chanel with some incredible photos of the madamoiselle – The Eternal Madamoiselle. The Svenska Mobler Gallery in Los Angeles, who contributed the recently discovered photos to this piece, are featuring intimate photos of Coco Chanel taken by Mark Shaw.
The fiercely fashionable woman created a brand and a lifestyle in a business world driven by men. I admire her tenacity and can’t wait to see the film Coco Before Chanel.
I have to admit that I’m equally excited to see Audrey Tautou – she too has incredible style that only the French can pull off so nonchalantly.

let the radio be your muse
Living in Los Angeles I have quite a commute, be it to or from work or going out at night, I spend a lot of time in the car. I love it though because it gives me the time to decompress while listening to music, be it new or old.
Fortunately, I have SiriusXM and I have to say, even though the pop stations can be a guilty pleasure, SiriusXM-U (ch. 26) and Alt Nation (ch. 21) are more and more becoming my go-to stations during my commute. Both in the morning and at night they tend to have incredible line-ups and always make my drive seem like a piece of cake. With that said, I rediscovered Muse this week. I know. They played the VMA’s this year, but I’ve honestly been listening to them for a few years.
Check out this song off their new album, a song that I think is a move in a great new direction for them: Undisclosed Desires
